Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player won his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Success also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led some to question if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.
The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
